Alisunn Virginia Curtin and Robert Michael Jones

The Meet Cute

It happens when you least expect it. Robert was volunteering at an event at Space 4 Art (where his sculpture studio is located and where Alisunn previously worked) when the two struck up a casual conversation. There was an immediate connection, both feeling at ease and comfortable with each other. They went on their first date shortly after and it was soon apparent they had found something unique and special in each other...and, most importantly, Alisunn's cat ultimately gave her approval. They moved in together and started to take on the world as a duo- supporting and encouraging one another and at times challenging and frustrating each other but always with love and respect. During the summer of 2016, in the middle of being separated for eight weeks, it was clear to both they had found their partner. Like their relationship, the proposal wasn't flashy or over the top. The moment was genuine, heart felt, and honest.

We couldn't be more excited to share our big day with all of you. Thank you to all for your love and support as we continue on this journey together!

Wedding Party

Emileigh Curtin

Maid of Honor

Emileigh is my sister - what else is there to say!? She is the one who has literally been there since day one, mastering the tricky balance of protecting and harassing me. While we didn't agree on much growing up, I've come to understand how important a big sister is and she has been my biggest cheerleader. She's fiercely loyal and one of the most generous people you'll ever meet. I'm very lucky to have her on my side!

Nahal Nikoumanesh

Nahal and I met our sophomore year in High School. She thought I had an attitude and I thought she was too loud and bossy but Pepperidge Farm Goldfish brought us together and 15 years later, we're still best friends. She's the person who will give you the advice you need but might not want to hear, she gives 100% in whatever she does and will always put a smile on your face.

Katie Stancil

Katie and I have known each other since Middle School but we didn't become close until 9th grade. I think it was our mutual love of General Hospital and Celine Dion that really sealed the deal. Living the furthest away from all of our friends, there were a lot of nights practicing the final dance routine from Sister Act II, eating ramen noodles, and figuring out how we could get on "Oprah's Favorite Things".

Jessica Cheadle - Theis

Jessica and I met in grad school in 2010 in Minneapolis. Being transplants, we quickly became friends because of her sense of humor, kindness, and our mutual love of the Minnesota State Fair. She is constantly thinking of others before herself and is always up for a late night adventure!

Jason Riley

Is there such thing as a bridesman? Yes, there is! I couldn't imagine leaving Jason out of my wedding festivities because he's such an important person in my life. We met in High School, in our junior year Physics class. He graciously helped me with our homework (because he saw I was a permanent passenger on the struggle bus) and has been helping me ever since. Whether I need a shoulder to cry on, a slap in the face, or words of encouragement, Jason is always there.

Chris Hill

Best Man

A fast friend my freshman year in college, Chris and I pushed each other in the gym, on the floor hockey court, and onto the dance floor. He bitch slapped my anxiety with his chillness and I kicked him in the ass when he needed it. His prankster ways and brilliant timing with a joke made for fun times. A year after driving him out to San Diego, I drove myself out and moved in down the street. Chris has introduced me to many of my closest friends. We have climbed out windows, jumped off bridges, won and lost tournaments, had cats fall out of our ceiling, and have become brothers along the way.

Kyle Bergquist

Kyle was my randomly assigned bunkmate freshman year at the University of New Hampshire. We immediately became friends and roomed together all four years of our undergrad. Unlike my genetically related brothers, who are all so similar, Kyle and I had complimenting personalities; opposite leaning dispositions which lead to being the best roommates ever. Kyle and I shared many interests and experiences. I could always count on a big smile, a big hug, and a new perspective. He is my brother from another mother and one of the warmest friends anyone could hope for.

Bryan Jones

My older brother Bryan has led me by example from my first steps. He showed me how to stay out of trouble and then later how to get into it. Being only a year ahead of me in school, we were classmates and teammates and despite getting completely frustrated with each other and arguing non-stop we were always friends. Bryan has taken on burdens for me and shown me tremendous strength in the darkest times. He is someone who rises to the occasion and exceeds what you thought possible.

Sam Jones

Sam was my right hand on many adventures and in many battles against ninjas, dragons, and at least one time, a ninja dragon. He has always been willing and able to go deep into imaginative places with me. Although Sam had two older brothers, he paved his own path and has become a brilliant and inspirational friend. We challenge and push each other intellectually and I often find myself asking for his help both professionally and personally.

Elliot Holbrook-Dunn

When I was nineteen I became an older brother for the second time. Since 'younger brother' was already taken Elliot became my 'wee bro'. It has been such a joy in my life to see Elliot grow up. He is amazingly imaginative, intuitive, and compassionate. I admire him and I am sure soon enough I will look up to him (literally). Simultaneously, as he becomes a man he helps me to remain a kid.

Your love, support, and company on our wedding day is truly the greatest present we could ever receive. Therefore, we have not created a registry and do not wish for any gifts. However, we understand there are those who would still like to honor us with something extra so a contribution to our saving pot would really make our day.

We can't wait to celebrate with all of you!
